Paris Saint-Germain have rejected Real Madrid’s £150m offer to sign Kylian Mbappé from Monaco.
The French giants had reportedly been in talks with the Parisian club over the signing of the world’s most valuable player since January, but negotiations broke down earlier this week.
Mbappé is currently signed by Monaco until the end of the season and has not made any moves towards leaving the club, despite being linked with several top clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Real Madrid have been eager to secure Mbappé’s signature for years and have spent millions of euros on his transfer fee, which could potentially exceed £200m if he were to agree to a longer-term contract.
However, Paris Saint-Germain have stated that they believe they can find a way to retain Mbappé without paying such a high price, either through a deal with another club or by offering him a significant salary increase.
It remains unclear what the future holds for Mbappé and whether he will ultimately join Real Madrid or stay at Monaco for the remainder of the season.
