In a statement released on Friday, forward Ben Yedder has pledged his long-term commitment to Monaco FC, citing the club's "harmony" as well as the team's ambitions in Ligue 1.

The French striker, who joined Monaco from Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, has been a key player for the Principality club over the past two seasons, scoring 54 goals in 116 appearances across all competitions.

In a press conference ahead of the team's upcoming match against Lille, Yedder said: "I'm very happy to be here at Monaco. The harmony is great, the players are motivated and we have a clear vision for the future."

He added: "We want to win titles, compete for European places and achieve our goals. I'm proud to be part of this project and I'm ready to give my best for the club."

Yedder's contract with Monaco expires in June 2023, but he has made it clear that he wants to remain with the club for the foreseeable future.

"We will see what happens," he said. "But I am committed to staying at Monaco until the end of my contract. I love this place and I want to continue playing here."

The forward's commitment comes after a difficult start to the season for Monaco, who currently sit bottom of Ligue 1. However, they have shown some improvement in recent weeks and Yedder believes that the team can turn things around.

"I believe that we can still climb up the table," he said. "We have a lot of talent and potential. We just need to work together and play better football."
