The German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach stunned their rivals, TSG Hoffenheim, by winning 2-1 on the road in a thrilling match at the Allianz Arena.
Christian Streich was the standout player for Mönchengladbach as he scored his first goal of the season and then assisted another two goals from Thierry Henry and Marco Reus respectively.
The win was a huge boost for the Bavarians who had been struggling recently and were looking forward to taking on TSG Hoffenheim in the next round of the league.
The team also celebrated their captain, Michael Ballack, who scored twice as well as he did in his previous game against Hoffenheim. The striker scored both goals in the second half of the match.
Mönchengladbach will now look to build upon this success and continue their strong form in the Bundesliga. They have already secured their place in the top four and are currently fourth in the table.
In the meantime, Hoffenheim will be hoping that they can bounce back from their defeat in the Champions League final last week and come out winners. The team will need to perform better than they did in their previous match against Mönchengladbach if they want to secure their spot in the Europa League.
